Jana and Jerry’s Wedding Quilt

JanaHouseQuilt

I’ve been awol these last few weeks because I have been working madly trying to finish this quilt for our Niece’s wedding.  I haven’t been able to post any pictures along the way because I wanted the finished quilt to be a surprise.  By far this is the most complicated and intricate quilt that I have ever designed, pieced and/or free motion quilted.   From start to finish, I put well over 100 hours into the quilt.  It was 106 x 106 when I loaded it onto the frame but I’m sure it shrunk a few inches because of all the detailed quilting.  To see more pictures and to read about the making of this quilt please follow this link “Jana and Jerry’s House Quilt”.  This also gives me my second FAL for this quarter (my original list).

The colors black, white & grey are such a wonderful combo. With the little brights peeking out it makes it perfect.
Do you know that Judy Mathieson (of Mariner’s Compass fame) loves dogs. When she isn’t making a new type of Mariner’s Compass, she makes quilts with dogs in them. If you go to http://judymathieson.com/Judy_Mathieson/Dog_Quilts.html
you’ll see some of her humorous quilts.
