When I first saw a picture of the Pixelville quilt on Facebook I knew immediately that I wanted to make it for my grandson Cameron’s 3rd birthday. I could just picture him driving his cars on it.
His birthday is in July so I got all the fabrics and started work on it at the end of April. I had no idea how much work this was going to be. It took me 12+ hours just to press all 17 fabrics, cut them into 240 1-1/2 inch strips and then sub cut those strips into 2490 pieces. YIKES!!! Good thing it was a labour of love.
In May I had a few unplanned client quilts come in so that impacted my progress on Cameron’s quilt. By mid June I had to devote all my spare time to get it done in time.

One row down…only 95 more to go!!!!
Here’s the Birthday Boy sitting on his present.
