WIP Wednesday

Leftovers2-4

I have made some progress on “Leftovers II”.  I think that adding the cream sashing has really helped to improve the design.  Unfortunately this new design calls for a few more 3×3 blocks that my original design so I have to do a little more cutting and piecing work  before I can finish assembling all the blocks together.

Millie

I took an APQS long arm for a test drive.  I decided to use my “Leftovers I”  quilt top as the guinea pig.  I did a panto design and it turned out pretty good for my first time on a long arm.  I’ve been dreaming of owning one for a while now….after the hands on play time……I am really, really, really wanting one now.  It only took 3 hours to quilt it…..it would have taken me way longer on my domestic machine.

hummmmmmm, interesting….this quilting business has be very intrigued……this arm seems amazing!!!! In awe always of your talent….like to see the finished product!

  2. Congratulations on the new longarm! I have had my Milie for 5 years now and I still look at it everyday and can’t believe it’s mine!
    What panto did you try?

    • Unfortunately it was just a test drive at the store I don’t own a Millie……yet….but it is definitely on my wish list. I was so excited to play that I didn’t even get the name of the panto that I used.

  3. Looks like really fun play time!!

  4. I love what you do with leftovers.

  5. I have been dreaming about that longarm too! You have made some beauties with scraps! Awesome!

  6. I love both of your leftovers… but especially “Strip Stacks” as I’ve got two WIPs using that pattern and think it’s such a striking layout. Great job!

    • Is there a pattern out there liked my quilt. That’s neat. I will have to go and check it out. I just had leftover tiny rectangles that I needed to use up so I stacked them and offset them.

    • I just googled strip stack and saw it. It is very similar to mine. I use more stacked rectangles in each strip, my diamonds are made up of 7 rows not 5 and I have a sashing between my diamonds. Here I thought I had designed something unique in EQ7 and it really isn’t.

  7. The colors in this quilt are so soothing. I love it!

Thank you so much for linking up with Needle and Thread Thursday!

  8. Leftovers II is coming along nicely. but for the rest your post is dangerous: I am working hard at not wanting a longarm ……

  9. I really like the colourway you are using!
