I was surfing on the weekend and stumbled upon Quiltville On Ringo Lake Mystery quilt-a-long. I’ve never done a mystery quilt because I didn’t want to invest the time and money making a quilt only to discover that I didn’t like the finished product. I went back and looked at some of the previous mystery quilts on Quiltville and they were all lovely. This year’s mystery quilt is designed to be made from scraps….and like any fabric-a-holic I have more than my share of fabric. To make a long story short, I decided to join in. The only problem is that it started 5 weeks ago so I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me. Week one was a nine patch….actually a lot of nine patches. I’ve got the first four made…..many, many, many more to go.
I’m linking up to Mystery TUESDAY Link-Up, Part 5

Your nine patches are lovely. I have been following Bonnie for quite a long time, and am joining the mystery this year. You are right, all of them are lovely, and the results are always impressive. So many pieces and blocks!
Ha—you have been hooked! I’ve made several of Bonnie’s mystery’s and they are labor intensive but lots of fun—especially since we get to use up our scraps! Some of mine have taken years to complete, but they always turn out lovely—Bonnie is a scrap genius!
Welcome to the mystery! I am on the 5th in 6 years, yikes, that’s a lot, have 3 finished projects and one top waiting for quilting, so I’m actually doing better on finishing than for some projects! Do a few of each clue now, catch up later! Just make sure to download the clues before they get removed.
Glad you found Bonnie Hunter’s Mystery – they are a lot of fun! It’s not a race but make sure you save all the clues (pdfs) so you can complete all the units on your schedule, as it will be retired in February.
Thanks for the tip
These mystery quilts are so fun, I look forward to them every year. If you are a scrappy quilter, Bonnie’s site has a lot to offer. You are off to a great start with some beautiful fabrics… enjoy!
Beautiful fabrics! and enjoy the process, it is pretty amazing!
