We are having a bit of a baby explosion in our extended family. On February 9th we welcomed Ava Nicole. I thought they were due in March so I had some time to spare. I was so sure that they were having a boy that I had started on a masculine quilt. When we got the call that Ava Nicole was born, I had to switch to baby girl mode. I just love this fabric from Bonnie and Camille called “Vintage Modern” and thought it was perfect. I’ve never played with a drunkards path block so that was my inspiration.
I had some fun free motion quilting it to enhance the shapes.

that quilt is absolutely beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the way you put her name on there!! Beautiful quilt and your quilting really enhances the piecing!!
What a beautiful quilt for a little girl! I bet that remains a favorite for a long, long time.
Beautifully done! Congrats on the just in time finish.
Beautiful! I love the quilting designs you chose.
What a beautiful quilt for a little baby. I love the feathers you’ve done.
It’s a great quilt. Love the fabrics you choose.
Beautiful baby quilt, love the name applique and of course your machine quilting is excellent!
What a delightful quilt!!
Perfection!
Lovely little finish! I especially like that you personalized it with her name. Oh, and your quilting is incredible! Thanks for linking up with TGIFF @ A Quarter Inch from the Edge!
What a fantastic quilt! I would be hard pressed to choose between the fabrics and the quilting. I am absolutely certain that this one will be loved for a long, long time. Little Ava Nicole is one lucky little girl!
Thank you for your very generous comments!
Baby’s are special, but I’m not so sure I would do a Drunkard’s Path for ANY baby! Wow! Most babies I sew for generally always get a far less complex quilt! š
I love this quilt and the fabrics you chose, but I feel I must correct you. This fabric is not called Scrumptious. It’s Bonnie Camille’s Vintage Modern fabric, a personal favorite of mine.
Thank you for noticing my mistake. I couldn’t remember the name of the fabric so I went searching online and obviously misidentified it.
Such a beautiful quilt for a baby girl. Congratulations to her Mum and Dad on her arrival.
Thank you or linking up with Free Motion Mavericks!
